My Life in Instagram

So, yesterday I was stuck in traffic in Wake Forest. Ugh. You know what I'm talking about fellow NC people. A busy little suburb with 2 main roads and about 80,000 stoplights is a bad place to be at 4:00pm. I went to Aldi and made several nice ladies feel bad for me as I dug in my coin purse for a quarter for a basket. Who goes to Aldi without making sure they have a quarter? This girl, apparently.
Found one, dodged that bullet, bought several tasty items and returned to my car.

This is me sulking about the whole situation.
When I returned to my car, I noticed that a.) the sky was black as night and b.) my sun roof was open. I was instantly grateful that I didn't spend much more time in Aldi. I make a quick decision to go home a different way and run by the bank. I noticed the high winds and rain and thought I could still make it the 1.5 miles home without getting blown off the road. I will admit it, I was worried about Lucy and a little jumpy about storms since a tornado went through our community last year. There was a *bit* of hail.....

....so I decided to just hang out under the shelter by the bank. Good plan, until SOMEONE ELSE HAD THE SAME PLAN and decided they wanted MY lane and not the 3 available lanes shown in the above photo.

FINE

So I simply drove back around and took another lane. It was kind of scary under there, but I was not about to risk going inside the bank and getting knocked unconscious by hail while walking across the parking lot.

The hail and wind finally stopped, so I eased out of the drive-thru and went on my way....

...until the hail started up AGAIN.

Yup, drove back around for the SECOND time and settled back in my little spot to wait out the hail.

Again.

The Wells Fargo bank employees probably had the best afternoon ever with no clients to serve and one seriously confused lady in a car.  The hail stopped for real, so I drove the 1.5 miles home and tried not to think about how I would never get that 30 minutes of my life back.

The End.

  1. The other day I was leaving Aldi and taking my cart back to the cart place. This lady was trying to give me a quarter so I'd just let her use my cart, but I got really confused and said, "But I can't get my quarter out until I return my cart." She kept trying to explain to me that she just wanted to exchange my cart for her quarter, but for some reason, it was all too complicated in my mind. About three days later, I finally realized that it would have been simple for her to give me a quarter in exchange for my cart. Also, the hail was scary. Also, you're awesome.

    1. Lol, last time I took Brian there he was disappointed that he wasn't going to get HIS quarter back. I then reminded him that he is not 3 years old....and that there are other quarters out there.
