Enough about crying! Well, speaking of crying...a still sickly Dr. Who (husband) kindly did these outfit photos for me. It was raining, he was sick, and I was bossy. The whole experience was one of angst and rife with boyish attitude. He loves me though. Tee Hee.
A little change of scenery from last time. This is our driveway. Ta Da!!!
I think my poses are getting better. (sike)
Let's see, so these are my trusty black skinny jeans. I like the fact that they bunch at the ankles. In my opinion, skinny jeans either need to be cropped like capris or long and bunchy. If they fall somewhere right at my ankles than we have a problem with proportions. Fact: Lots of people can wear skinny jeans, just find a pair that works best for your body. These are sooo comfy. I think I stumbled on this pair at Kohls on the clearance rack. I think they are from the Lauren Conrad line.
Oh, you like my purse? Converse. Target. $9.00 instead of $30.00.
It's my every day purse, it holds a ton and it has endured so much abuse and still looks fabulous.
You will see it again, so just act surprised when it shows up in every single outfit post.
I'm really getting crazy with the posing!! Here you can see what the top looks like. It's from Target. The clearance rack. I heart it. The design is something about roller skating, which I was quite good at back in the 80s. The cut is also a throwback to the 80s (like my awesome jean jacket!) It's a wider, shorter fit, so I paired it with a bright green tank top underneath to lengthen the torso. Tank tops are like security blankets for me, I often feel like my shirts aren't long enough without them. I have probably ruined more than one outfit by adding a random layer underneath. I might have a problem.
There are so many weird things happening here. I was trying to show off my necklace....trying to get my face out of the photo....trying to call some attention to my shoes...showing off my brown roots... Anyways...
Let's talk about the shoes. Shoes are hard for me, I have high arches and wide feet so that really narrows down my shoe choices. These are made by Crocs and I. Love.Them.
I have them in 3 colors.
Sadly, they don't make this model anymore.
Sorry.
You are welcome to look at this photo though.
And last but not least...
The owl bling.
Archimedes is his name.
I picked him up at Charming Charlie (a store specializing in accessory overload)
He jingles oh so softly, like wearing a little wind chime.
I love you Archi.
So I hope maybe this was helpful to you. Get that jean jacket out of the closet and wear it with pride. Rock some insanely huge necklaces. Try an 80s throwback. Go roller skating.

PS. Bonus points for identification of allusions to a.) Disney classic movies or b.) puppets bearing resemblance to a popular British childrens literary series.

Your wit makes you the "perfect" blogger....denim jacket and all!
ReplyDeleteOne of my FAVORITE Disney classics ever!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to point out that "Archi" is hanging off the smokestack of my grill. That is awesome.
ReplyDeleteFour Things: 1) I have a denim jacket (that's too big for me now) that I will never get rid of, lest I also cry myself to sleep multiple nights in a row. 2) I will never look good in a pair of skinny jeans (probably because I will never, ever wear them). 3) I always felt sorry for that poor girl squirrel in that movie. I'm a sap for those "boy turns into squirrel, girl squirrel falls in love with squirrel-boy, squirrel turns back into boy and breaks girl squirrel's heart" stories. ...Boy meets squirrel. Tee hee. 4) Your brown roots are awesome and possibly even full of wizard angst.
